Rock Plaza Central | “Anthem for the Already Defeated”

“Anthem for the Already Defeated” – Rock Plaza Central on MTV Canada

Though he looks like he’d eat you with a side of whiskey in this clip, RPC’s lead singer Chris Eaton is a harmless ex-Maritime chap and eclectic folk artist trying to win the hearts of music scenesters beyond Toronto. With 2006’s Are We Not Horses? release, the crew’s reaped ample attention, landed plum distribution deals, and are getting accolades from the likes of elite Pitchfork Media music snobs. Turns out the snobs like them.

And so do I. Aside from the great vocals, there’s nothing more that excites me than a juicy instrumental backdrop of banjo, violin, trumpet, mandolin, accordion, and glockenspiel. Get me a hankie — I’m salivating.
