Arcade Fire | “Neon Bible”
La Blogotheque consistently blows me away, turning songs I think are so-so into vivid pieces like this one. This is one elevator I wouldn’t mind being trapped in.
Also, am I the only one who hopes that guy doesn’t run out of magazine pages?

Bat for Lashes | “What’s a Girl to Do?”
This is one of those videos that makes me wish I was a music video director, or at least had a bunch of interested friends to create something similar. The visuals stay with me even when I’m listening to the song on my iPod, and I believe it’s the best music-on-bicycles video, next to the Do-Re-Mi bit in Sound of Music. (And that’s some pretty tall shoes to fill.)

Loney, Dear | “Saturday Waits”
The first day of summer usually calls for lemonade, patterned shirts reminiscent of grandma’s dining room tablecloth, and specially crafted mix CDs full of boys singing in their best breezy falsettos. Swede Emil Svanängen’s basement recording project Loney, Dear has saved me on many mixes in honour of this summer already (and it’s barely begun). Check out “I Am John” (courtesy of SubPop), and you’ll be aching to don your shades, jump into a convertible and take a extended road trip with the windows rolled down.
Have a happy first week of summer, kids. It’s gonna be a good one.
